Kos: the island of Hippocrates

Kefalos

Kefalos was supposed to have a splendid beach. The beach was indeed beautiful, but the sea was too difficult to enter because of too many slippery, big, flat rocks underneath the surface.

Just outside Kos Town, the best beach of the whole island. Especially for kids this was the nicest spot to spend your day.
In the sun or in the shade of one of the many trees on the beach.

Hippocrates (500 BC): Illnesses are not being caused by demons, but have a natural cause and can be healed with natural means.

He can be seen as the founder of modern medicine.

This tree
was planted by
Hippocrates himself (500 BC)
and is still standing.

Thermes

The hot springs of Thermes.
We never made it down the dirt road with the buggy,
but the view was magnificent.
Zia

A beautiful authentic mountain village.
